Rotolo's

I was subcontracted to complete this hand painted mural work by Albright Solutions, who was handling the Rotolo's rebrand renovation project in 2023 .
I consider this project very much a labor of love. Not only did I complete it in a 3 month timeframe while managing full time graphic design work and a career transition into Project Management... I also conquered my fear of heights by holding a steady hand on scaffolding & extension ladder. Additionally, there was a very strict Design Super onsite... ;)
This process was largely completed using projectors, artist's pencils, and acrylic paints. Albright Solutions provided me an assistant artist, Abby Bolay, to complete the project. We worked odd hours (both managing school/work) and giggled together as we hand painted the walls with small brushes & courage.
The drywall portion progressed fairly quickly. However, the removal of the existing vinyl decal (very satisfying to peel away) , tracing, priming, and painting the brick surface proved to be quite extensive.
Textured / porous surfaces always present challenges, but particularly so when your projector can not handle the brick & elements require hand drawing.
